Neil Rankin and Sam Lee's restaurant Temper picked up best newcomer in the UK at the Observer Food Monthly Awards 2017. Hosts Jay Rayner and Nigella Lawson presented the Best Newcomer award to Neil at the Freemasons’ Hall, London, on 12 October. You can download the full article here.
The Kitty Hawk received the design award for the Best London Bar.
The Restaurant & Bar Design Awards now in its ninth year is a globally recognised competition dedicated to the design of food and beverage spaces. This covers every imaginable space, from ships to airports, museums to burger vans, and from revered Michelin-starred establishments to the fleeting dynamism of pop-ups.
The Awards attract the world’s top designers, hospitality operators and judges from the UK and globally. Recent names include Zaha Hadid, Kengo Kuma, Foster & Partners, Stephen Alden, Gordon Ramsay, Tony Chambers (Editor in Chief, Wallpaper*), Alberto Alessi, Thomas Heatherwick and host of other industry leaders.
The Awards ceremony were held at London's King's Cross on the 5th October 2017.
In tandem, at the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards on the 5th October, No.197 Chiswick Fire Station received the design award for the best UK Pub. The business continues to go from strength to strength, as part of an award-winning range of venues from Mel Marriott's group Darwin & Wallace. With their new site now open at No.29 Power Station West the award-winning venues are 'more home than high-street'.
