Cattivo comes to Brixton...
Cattivo may be Italian for naughty, but this new venue is really rather special…
Ferndale Road has a new player… Cattivo at No.207 Ferndale Road, Brixton. The team behind all-day destinations Martello Hall and Canova Hall now delve into the night-time scene… Cattivo is home to both a café and underground cocktail bar. This is the third site for Albion & East’s Managing Director, Sarah Weir.
Cattivo serves Southern Italian-inspired fare, ranging from small shareable dishes to hearty pastas and ragus. Start with fried parmesan crisps or whipped ricotta with nut dukkah, before tucking into pappardelle with ‘nduja and lamb, or a must-try truffle tortelloni with fried sage. There are also plenty of vegan options, including linguine with pistachio pesto, fried squash with vegan hollandaise, and a mushroom and aubergine ragu.
Cocktails come with a heavy dose of fun and creativity. Whilst you may not know who Skinny Dennis is, we’re sure you’ll like him: Brooklyn gin, barrel aged orange bitters, citrus mist, natural quinine tonic syrup, and club soda. Cattivo has a whole section on the menu dedicated to Spritz.
It’s not just Italian fare and stunning cocktails at this two-in-one concept, Cattivo has an eclectic line-up of entertainment. Think showtime brunches with drag queens and disco, super soul Sundays, and gin masterclasses, because they have their own gin still too (‘course they do). His name is Victor, and you’re sure to get along just fine.
If you’re looking for one of the best new openings in London, look no further than Cattivo.
