Canova Hall opens in Brixton

Albion & East's second bar and restaurant is now open in Brixton. With a Tap Room, Bitters Bar, brick oven, private dining area, private hire and hot-decking space... it's a stunning new site.

With its own on-site gin distillery, Canova Hall in Ferndale Road in Brixton is a 4,579 sq ft former retail and office space, with interiors designed by Red Deer.

Canova Hall is a relaxed workspace environment in the daytime, offering take-away coffee, and a destination for cocktails in the evenings, building on the success of Martello Hall in Hackney, open from 8am until 3am at weekends.

Split over the basement and ground floor, with an “old market-style” canteen combined with the “utility and grandeur of the food halls and markets of old” it's a stunning venue. With a menu of “good-quality, simple” food centred on “natural fuel”, there is an authentic all-wood oven imported from Modena in Italy. Everything is cooked fresh, from the 48-hour-fermented pizza dough to the homemade pastas.

As well as ordering drinks from the bar, customers have the option of making their own drinks using ingredients delivered to their table on the cocktail trolley or they can book a bartender to make drinks for them at their table.

After the success of the on-site gin distillery at Martello Hall, Albion & East has built a larger still in Brixton, to give the team the ability to make larger batches and extend their flavour profile. Small-batch Canova Gin and Martello Gin is on sale in both sites, adding to the range of on-site gins the company makes.
