A Pizza Pilgrimage

In 2012, Thom and James Elliot founded the firm in a Soho market stall. It was the result of an eponymous “Pizza Pilgrimage” through Italy in late 2011.  They brought everything there was to know about pizza back to London in the back of a Piaggio Ape van.

The brothers started with a stall in Berwick Street Market and opened their first restaurant a year later after raising £250,000 from friends, family, angel investors, and their own funds.

Pizza Pilgrims now serves Neapolitan pizza and homemade limoncello from 14 UK restaurants and at events across the UK. All of the dough is made fresh daily and they source the best ingredients Italy has to offer. As any Neapolitan will tell you – it’s all about the crust.

During lockdown, the brothers innovated quickly to create the “Pizza by Post” kit and expanded delivery nationwide, so customers can make the best possible Neapolitan pizza in their own home. One of the most loved UK pizza brands continues its pilgrimage and growth plans across the UK.
